Adjunct faculty at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga unionized with SEIU 1021 in 2014, and proceeded to negotiate and ratify one of the strongest contracts for contingent faculty in the nation, including explicit language to help adjunct faculty qualify for unemployment benefits during the summer.
